William Wegman has built a career doing possibly the most fun thing you could do – dressing his dogs up and taking photographs of them. Wegman’s work is instantly recognisable, as the surreal portraits he takes have been used in everything from book covers to Sesame Street. Known as “The Dog Photographer”, Wegman operates out of a studio in New York, and this video by Great Big Story features a tour around his vast basement of weird props and costumes, as well as Wegman talking about how he reconciles his work and its place in the art work.

I sure dislike seeing dogs, cats, birds etc, dressed as humans. It doesn’t befit their dignity. I fact, makes me cringe.
