Red Bull travels to a troubled area of Cape Town in South Africa to meet the mentors who help Waves For Change, a charity that looks to improve young people’s lives through surfing.

The group gets kids to interact with each other through surfing and teaches them lessons in caring for one another. They’re taught to look out for one each other on the water and how to keep each other safe. In this area, some children are brought up with no good role models at all and can be easily swept into gang life at a young age. This group helps them to have someone to look up to and gives the kids a community that will support them and will help them to make the right choices in life.

It’s a touching video that reminds us just how powerful small actions can be. For these kids, having strong role models is vitally important and gives them someone to aspire to. Also, by taking on tough challenges in the water, the kids learn how they can overcome difficult issues in their own lives. It’s an amazing doc from Red Bull.
