This weirdly-fascinating Swedish documentary is built around a simple premise – an advertisement offered people who had never jumped from a 10 meter diving tower the offer to do so. The film is simply made from footage of the various participants as they are psyching themselves up to the jump, or sometimes even deciding against it and climbing back down. As the film makers themselves say – “We’ve all seen actors playing doubt in fiction films, but we have few true images of the feeling in documentaries. To make them, we decided to put people in a situation powerful enough not to need any classic narrative framework. A high dive seemed like the perfect scenario.”
