HBO released this trailer for their new documentary Saudi Women’s Driving School where they meet the first female drivers in the region.

Saudi Arabia is ruled by the oppressive House of Saud. Basic human freedoms around religion, politics and democratic assembly are few and far between. One of the most oppressed groups in Saudi Arabia is women. Archaic laws mean that women often can’t even go outside unaccompanied by a man. Women were only permitted to drive a few years ago.
