British bank Halifax have continued their adverts that place one of their colleagues into classic movies by re-imaging the 80’s masterpiece Ghostbusters.
We see Greg the banker ringing up the Ghostbusters’ office to inform them their contactless debit cards are ready, prompting celebration from Janine the receptionist…

The rest of the advert sees Greg following the Ghostbusters on their hunt for the Slimer ghost around the Sedgewick Hotel, as he is cleverly doctored into the footage to dispense advice about contactless payments to the cast of the film, while also receiving a bit of slime in the process…

Terrible advert, sad and disappointing use of iconic movie footage. As a customer of the bank I’m appalled, as a life long fan of the movie I’m angered and as an intelligent free thinking individual I’m insulted. Stop it, stop it now and don’t do it any more please. It’s not funny, not useful and not necessary.
Total agreement it is a shame that a classic movie should be use this way I will never be banking with a bank that has no respect for such a classic and only interested in there OWN profits should never never had been used so sad
