All-girl American rock band Haim released this dreamy, laid-back music video for their new track Summer Girl.

The video was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The famed director is known for his surreal and stunning movies, like Magnolia and There Will Be Blood. The video has a vintage and stylish look to it with trippy elements added in to it as well. The band members are always changing outfits throughout the video. This has a weird effect, in that it distorts the sense of time in the video and makes it hard to pinpoint what the girls are doing or where they’re going.

It’s a subtle and smart trick that has a big impact on the video. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Haim video without some walking. Lots of walking. The band’s music videos tend to feature the group walking towards the camera and singing. It’s become a much-loved trademark of the band’s music videos. We’re loving this new track and vid from Haim and can’t wait to see more like it in the future.
