Visual artist Ri Crawford released this stunning stop-motion film called The Moon’s Milk.

This project took a staggering seven and a half years to complete. It took an incredible amount of dedication, with everything in the film being sculpted by Ri himself. It’s an amazing feat and the end result is beautiful to look at. In the fictional world presented to us in the short film, The Moon is close enough to earth that people can reach it by using a ladder. A group of people travel to The Moon in order to collect milk from it. We didn’t know that there was milk on The Moon either…

The film is narrated by legendary American singer Tom Waits. He’s known for his croaky, coarse voice. His narration perfectly compliments the dark style of the animation. We’re really impressed with this project from Ri Crawford. The story is lovely and the stop-motion is breathtaking. We reckon this is the coolest stop-motion trip to The Moon since Wallace and Gromit went there in the short A Grand Day Out.
