Joules had one of the best christmas ads for 2019, with their charming promo featuring Wallace and Gromit.

Anyone who’s a fan of the famous characters will know that the stop-motion techniques used to bring them to life takes an incredibly long time. Rather than rely on CGI animation techniques, the team at Aardman fully rely on using hand- sculpted models. What’s really impressive about this advert is that it’s filled with real Joules products as well, that have been shrunk down and moulded into plasticine. Spotting a tiny pair of Joules boots is really cool to see.

It’s interesting to see Joules work with Aardman on a project like this. We can’t get enough of Wallace and Gromit on our screens, so we’re chuffed to see them popping up in ads as well. The promo is filled with little easter eggs that reference the pairs’ previous adventures. In one shot, you can see a set of orange space shuttles on the wall, referencing the first time that we ever saw Wallace and Gromit on screen, when they flew to the moon in A Grand Day Out.
