Director Amber Grace Johnson brings us this moving short film called Free The Work. It tells us about the importance of women in the workplace and what can happen if they’re left out.

It starts by talking about Mozart and how incredibly talented he was at such a young age. Mozart was truly one of a kind. Except… he wasn’t. Mozart had a sister who was just as talented as her more famous brother. But why have we not heard of this other talented Mozart? Why was she left out of the history books?

Well, it’s a recurring theme throughout history. Women are often shut out of a lot of professions and, even when they do manage to break into the industry, they’re not taken as seriously as men. This advert looks to change that. It promotes the website Free The Work, which is a recruitment service that’s aimed at promoting talented female photographers and directors. It’s about not missing the next female Mozart, Tarantino or De Niro. It’s about making sure that talented women are overlooked no longer.
