Cricket star Freddie Flintoff plays against himself in this brilliant short film from NatWest.

In it, we meet an engineer who’s managed to create a working machine that can replicate any bowl made by any player. After NatWest put a poll out to the general public on Twitter, asking them which bowler they’d like to see Freddie face, they chose… well, Freddie himself! Specifically, they wanted Freddie to bat against his famous bowls against Australia at Edgbaston in 2005.

The tech is really amazing, as we see the bowling machine launch out identical bowls to the ones that Freddie threw back in 2005. So, how does Freddie fare when he’s playing against himself? Well, things don’t go to plan at the start, but Freddie brings it back on the last bowl. Remembering that the Aussie batsman defended the ball, rather than attacked it, Freddie goes all out, smacking the ball way into the distance. It’s a brilliant film that reminds us just how talented Freddie really is. NatWest have come out with loads of cool cricket ads over the years, but this has to be one of their best!
