Thomas Parker is having a bad time after finishing his first narrative film – or so it would appear in this video advert from the SHIFT Creative Fund to advertise their Narrative Short Film Grant. The video is narrated by Parker’s therapist, who explains the mental toll that producing a film on a shoestring budget caused him. This “admirable but foolish” move is represented by a dodgy producer, terrible special effects and less-than-ideal choice of actors due to being unable to pay a wage. The video then advertises the grants available to filmmakers through the fund, taking out all of the headaches usually experienced when making a film from scratch.
