This moody and atmospheric short film from director Josh Hayward explores Yangon in Myanmar, a city going through extreme cultural and social change.

Filmed in and around the city, the short focuses on the youth of the city, who are finding new outlets in art and sport that allow them to express themselves and socialise – the short sees footballers, boxers, dancers and skateboarders all practicing in various rooms and environments.

The beginning of the short makes the point that for over half a century, Yangon was cut off from the rest of the world due to isolationist government rule. Now that the laws around foreign trade and involvement are loosened, the new generation are fostering a cultural renaissance in the city, whilst keeping themselves firmly rooted in their culture and heritage.
