The tallest mountain in the world is captured in spectacular detail in this time-lapse film by filmmaker Elia Saikaly. Shot in 2014 and 2015, the film is made up of beautiful time-lapse shots of the night sky around Mount Everest and Base Camp. Light pollution out in these areas is so minimal that the night sky can be seen in shocking detail, and when this is the backdrop for shots that show the torches of climbers making their way up the side of the mountain it makes for some incredibly dramatic shots. The stunning landscape, incredible night skies and swirling clouds are as imposing as a film about the top of the world should be.
