In the most unexpected marketing turn you will see this decade, budget travel site Hostelworld.com have revealed an advert featuring the world’s greatest Diva – Mariah Carey. The hilarious advert shows Carey accidentally being booked into a hostel by her entourage, until she discovers it’s not as bad an experience as she might have thought it to be. There’s some genuinely funny moments in this, from the hostel staff panicking about her arrival (“Mariah Carey? Off of… Christmas?”) to Carey experiencing the realities of sharing a hostel when she is greeted by a semi-naked man in a lift – all of this showing that maybe she’s got more of a sense of humour than we have expected.
