VICE meet the man behind Change, a charity who covers up racist tattoos for people who want to move away from right-wing and xenophobic lifestyles.

Racist gangs like the Aryan Brotherhood often ask their members to get a number of different tattoos that celebrate racist ideologies. The most common designs are based around Nazi imagery, as this is universally known to represent racist and extremist ideas. When people want to move away from this gang, they can struggle to get back to ordinary life, as they’re covered in tattoos that convey hate and prejudice.

Another issue is that to get all of the tattoos covered up can be an extremely costly task. The charity Change teams up with tattoo parlours all over the US to give people free cover up tattoos, so that they can finally leave their racist beliefs in the past. In this documentary, we meet an ex Aryan Brotherhood member and learn why he moved away from the gang and why he wants to cover his tattoos up for good.
