A film about Chemistry might not fill you with excitement the minute you hear it, but bear with us. Flowers & Colors is a short film that takes advantage of a certain pigment found in flowers that is sensitive to the pH level of a liquid solution. Using a macro lens and microscope, flowers of different colours and variations were immersed in different acid solutions and the results recorded. The resulting film is an incredible close up of the explosion of colours that occur as the petals gradually move from one pigment to another, almost looking CGI-generated as you see the acid soaking through the fibres of the petals.
