Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi look back at what life was like before Amazon’s Alexa in this entertaining Superbowl commercial.
In the ad, we’re taken way back in time to see how people coped before they could use their Alexa to find out important info. We go back to the Elizabethan era, where a jester called Alexi is asked to tell The Queen a joke, we go to the 1910s, where Alex gives out the latest news and to Medieval England, where a princess uses her messenger pigeon called Aleximus to send a note to her lover.
The methods that they choose to use aren’t all that effective and are frankly, well, a bit rubbish. It goes to show just how many things Alexa can be used for. To think, all those poor jesters and pigeons are now totally out of a job. It’s a great ad that goes back to lots of different periods in history. We’ve got to say, we think things are probably better now, after seeing some of the places that they went to.
