So the future is pretty bleak if this advert for German supermarket chain EDEKA is to be believed… It’s the year 2117 and artificial intelligence has taken control, cities are empty and humans live out in huts in the forest. The short follows one robot who becomes entranced with a poster for an old Christmas film, and ends up joining a family for Christmas dinner. As Christmas ads go it’s pretty far removed from your usual cuddly-animals affair, but the great special effects and Wall-E inspired central character make this an advert that stands out from the crowd.
