Coronavirus has dealt a huge financial blow to a lot of industries. The leisure and hospitality industries particularly have been absolutely slashed. ZSL, the Zoological Society of London, has been particularly damaged. And famed naturalist Sir David Attenborough has put a call out to protect the national institution.
For those who don’t know, ZSL runs London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo in the UK, but they’re much more than that. ZSL is an international conservation charity focused on protecting wildlife.
With a huge team of research scientists and conservationists both in the field and in laboratories, ZSL has made enormous contributions to natural science in the last 200 years.
In this video, released by ZSL, Sir Attenborough encourages people to help the institution by donating to help them recover funds lost by the closure of the two zoos. London Zoo, the world’s oldest scientific zoo, has inspired countless people to dedicate their lives to the protection of wildlife, and the closure of the zoo risks depriving future generations that inspiration.
