Go Vilnius, the tourism board for the capital of Lithuania, asks people a simple question. Where is their city?
The capital is probably one of the least well-known cities in Europe. In a continent dominated by famous cities like Rome, London and Paris, it can be easy to miss all that the region has to offer. With a population of just over 500,000, it ranks amongst the smallest capitals in the EU.
In this ad, we see people on the streets of Berlin asked if they know where Vilnius is. Lots of people have no idea, with the answers ranging from Belgium and Austria to as far out as Ethiopia. Hmm, just a bit out there mate. The narrator of the ad has to constantly change his description of the city, as he tries to keep up with the interviewees wildly varying answers. We feel sorry for the poor guy, he must be exhausted. It’s a clever ad that pokes fun at itself and shows us all the reasons why we should know about, and should visit, the lovely city of Vilnius.
