The latest ad by Mountain Dew sees actor Danny McBride take on the role of Dewey Ryder, possibly the worst NASCAR racer the world have ever seen. Shot as a mockumentary of Dewey’s first (and most probably last) race, it begins with his car being tested by safety officials to make sure it’s race worthy. Not entirely impressed with his mini-fridge full of Mountain Dew or his Ben Hur style spikes on the tyres, he eventually strips the car down a bit to make sure he qualifies for the race, only to pull over halfway to berate his mentor Dale Earnhardt Jr, son of legendary racer Ralph Dale Earnhardt.
