COPA90 goes inside Nottingham Forest football club and documents their epic rise to champions of Europe to their crash down to the second tier.
In 1979 and 1980, Forest won the European Cup, now known as the Champions League. It’s the biggest cup competition on the continent and the winners are considered to be the best team in the world. For a couple of years, the little side from the East Midlands were the dominant team home and abroad. It looked like nothing could go wrong for them.
But in the 90s things started to fall apart with the club slipping down to the second tier by the end of the decade. They were stuck in limbo for years, seeing a huge succession of managers come and go. It looked like Forest would never get back to the top flight. But their latest manager has brought good fortunes back to the City Ground. It looks like they could potentially be going up to the Premiership for the first time in over 20 years. Can they do it? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below.
