NOWNESS try to challenge your ability to distinguish real life settings from CGI in this Club Palace video. When watching the short film – which is made up of shot of a strange set with abstract shapes moving around each other, water raining down in weird ways and smoke filling corridors – it is easy to get into the mindset that this much be a computer-generated set with particle physics used to simulate the different effects. The credits reveal that this was actually shot in real time on a real-life set, with huge amounts of work being done by set designers and the art department to fool your eye into thinking that what you are looking at could not be done.
