Channel 4 and the National Citizen Service brought us this inspiring story about two young rappers trying to make a name for themselves in Hull, East Yorkshire.

The city is known for being a dark spot for culture, life expectancy and opportunities in the UK. But scratch beneath the surface and there’s a wealth of talented youngsters and musicians who’re trying to break out of their dreary day to day existence. Up and coming local rapper Cameo wants to help bring other artists through and promote positive mental health practices through his music.

With the help of the NCS, he sets up a permanent music studio in the famous Adelphi club. He takes a rapper called Womack under his wing and helps him to record a demo and get a billing on stage at the Adelphi. Although he’s super nervous, he manages to come out with a stellar performance that blows the crowd away. It’s an inspiring story and demonstrates the amazing potential and talent that’s hidden around the whole of the United Kingdom.
