Carhartt and Hurley meet Erik Wilkie, a surfer from the mid-west of America who goes swimming in the Great Lakes, despite the fact that they’re close to freezing for most of the year.
Erik developed a big passion for surfing but had one huge obstacle in the way. He didn’t live anywhere near the sunny coasts of LA, San Diego and Santa Monica. He lived right in the middle of the US, where cold lakes are the only place where you can go surfing. Well, we say that, Erik’s pretty much the only one who actually decided to brave the cold and ride the waves in the chilly mid-west.
This lovely short film shows one man’s passion for surfing and the outdoors. He even gets his family invovled in his trips out on the water. For Erik it’s all about getting out, having good times and creating memories with his family. Surfing doesn’t just help him catch perfect waves, it helps him to have a perfect life. For him, he’s happy with the nippier waters of the mid-west. He’d take them over the warm west coast waves any day of the week.
