This brilliant documentary by NOWNESS explores the emergence of Mahraganat – a burgeoning music scene that is erupting from some of the poorest areas of Cairo, Egypt. Mahraganat, meaning “festivals” in Arabic, is an electronic music style that has been gaining traction in the ghettos, and the documentary is narrated by one of its pioneers who is known as “Soska the inventor”.
