Hit TV show Brooklyn Nine-Nine made this 1980s style trailer for their season 7 premiere.

In the vid we see what the programme would look like if it was made 35 years ago. The promo is filled with cheesy voiceovers, grainy visuals and witty one-liners. Buddy cop movies were really popular in that decade. A few stand out movies like Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon and Tango & Cash set the blueprint for the genre. Although their popularity has died down a bit, plenty of people still love the old-school look of films from this era.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine perfectly parodies the genre in this promo. In fact, it’s so good that we wish they would actually do an 80s spin-off. We dread to think what kind of awful hairdos the characters would have though. Hmm, an old-school cop sitcom. It would be a bit like Ashes To Ashes combined with Friends. The promo is a clever way to advertise the new series and get people talking about the show. People online are already hyped about the new season and great trailers like will be getting people even more excited.
