The spike in crime committed on mopeds in the UK’s cities and urban areas has been enormous over the past few years, with over 23,000 crimes committed in London attributed to motorcycles in 2017 alone. This clip from the BBC special Inside Britain’s Moped Crime Gangs features an interview with one of the individuals in these gangs, as he talks about how easy it is to swipe phones, bags and laptops from unsuspecting pedestrians, all while avoiding the police by weaving through traffic and down side streets.
