As some of the best storytellers in the world, getting the chance to hear from Pixar’s writing team is a pretty decent way for anyone who is interested in film to get some insider knowledge on how to craft the perfect story. This animated interview picks apart the best ways to begin a story, and is told by screenwriter Michael Arndt, who worked on projects like Toy Story 3 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In the video, Arndt breaks down the steps taken to write a good story by using examples from other Pixar films, and shows how these steps can be vital to crafting the rest of the script.
