Mattress company Simba re-writes the events of the Cuban Missile Crisis in this funny ad.

For those who don’t know, the Cuban Missile Crisis was an event, where, in 1962, the USSR placed nuclear missiles in Cuba that were pointed directly at the USA. The two countries faced off against each other and it was considered the closest that humanity’s ever got to all out nuclear war. In short, it was a pretty intense time and everyone involved was really angry.

But what if things have been different? What if everyone had just been a bit more chilled out. Simba reckons that if people had had access to their brand of beds back then, they would have been so well-rested that things would have been a lot more jovial. In fact, they show us an alternative series of events where the crisis is settled over a light-hearted game of tennis. It’s a unique ad that flips a well-known historical event on its head.
