When was the last time you just made a friend out of nowhere? If, like most of us, even making eye-contact with someone on the bus sends you into spasms of panic, this video from the Campaign To End Loneliness could be a sort of instructional video… Young children were released into a cafe where people tended to just sit on their own and enjoy their coffee, with hidden cameras recording their exchanges with unwitting members of the public who weren’t quite used to being confronted with conversation right out of the blue. The video makes for some heartwarming moments and a strong central message – that if we all made an effort to be a bit friendlier things might not be quite as lonely after all.
