The Mercedes Benz stadium that houses the Atlanta Falcons holds the record for having the largest halo board in the world, and is one of few stadiums that has a retractable roof, in order for sports to be played in all conditions. The roof is built in a striking pinwheel shape, with the moving pieces coming together like a camera’s aperture. In this video by Fast Company, we learn about the ideas process that went into building such an enormous feat of engineering, as well as the plans for the stadium in the future in terms of hosting sporting events.
