Women in India have always faced an uphill struggle when it comes to being respected, but in this video by Vans Skateboarding we see how there are girls all over the country who are finding a way to express themselves and have fun through skateboarding. Local skater Atita Verghese enlisted the help of professional skater Lizzie Armanto, who flies out to Bangalore to help out with Verghese’s foundation Girls Skate India, which provides girls and young women of India with the facilities to get on a board and develop their skills. Armanto gives a skate lesson to a group of girls from around the country and from different walks of life, and it’s obvious by how adorably starstruck they all are how big an inspiration she is to these girls.
