Apple Music chats to Hip Hop legend Dr Dre about his classic album 2001: The Chronic.

We also hear from Dre’s business partner Jimmy Iovine and learn how he helped to create the record as well. Dr Dre is known as being one of the most talented producers in the music industry and 2001: The Chronic was one of his best works ever. In this interview, we hear how Dre didn’t even really want to be that involved in the album as a rapper, but was convinced to take a leading role as one of the main vocalists on the LP by Jimmy.

The rapper tells us how Jimmy Iovine helped to put the finishing touches on the album and convinced Dre to make Still D.R.E. Dre was happy with how the album sounded but Jimmy said that it just needed one more song. Jimmy was totally right, as Still D.R.E not only set the tone for the entire album, but became an instant classic Hip Hop anthem. It’s fascinating to learn about the process of making the album.
