TED-Ed gives us an awesome animated history of dogs in this cool vid. We see how our relationship with our canine cousins developed and how it goes back tens of thousands of years.

The video tells us how tamer, lone wolves would come to humans for food. Over time, the tamer wolves outlasted their tougher counterparts, to the point where humans could keep them within their camps. Interestingly, humans and wolves had similar social and familial structures, making it a perfect match!

As humans evolved and changed, so did wolves, being bred eventually into what we know as the modern day dog. Things didn’t stop there though, as humans kept on breeding them to suit different jobs and environments. Down the line, we started breeding them to look nice too, hence how we travelled from the wild wolf to the docile pug!
