Never afraid to go a bit left-field with their music videos, British indie-band Alt-J have taken us to 19th century Wales for their new video “Pleader”. The hypnotic, religious-sounding song (it was actually recorded in a cathedral using an organ) is paired with an atmospheric and emotional short film showing a community placing their future in the birth of a boy, coupled with CGI effects of the destruction of their valley. It’s really quite out there, but it works brilliantly.
