Adidas announced a new insole that will track your football games in real life and will give you rewards on the FIFA video game.
Every avid FIFA fan is always looking for new ways to improve their rankings and skills. But a cheeky joke in footy circles is that players who spend all their time playing the virtual version of football aren’t so good on the pitch. Now, those FIFA fans will be able to prove the doubters wrong, as they’ll be rewarded when they complete a number of challenges. They range from smashing in free kicks, to running certain distances to learning new skills. Players will also be able to look at global leaderboards to see who’s doing the best in the world.
It’s a really unique concept from Adidas and they perfectly bring the idea to life in this fast-paced promo. The lighthearted ad features both a virtual and real version of Juventus midfielder Paulo Dybala. The vid sees loads of talented players building up their online stats with their offline skills. Considering how much some youngsters love video games, could this trend help create the next Lionel Messi or Ronaldo? Hmm, we’ll have to wait and see about that…
