BBC Sport brought us this documentary about Italian football club AC Milan’s move out of their iconic San Siro stadium.
The move has been criticised by some, mostly fans who will be sad to see the old stadium left behind. It’s a classic and stunning ground, but it is falling into serious disrepair. It also has far fewer features than most modern stadiums, which is partially being blamed for the lack of big money investment in the club. Once the giants of Europe, AC Milan have fallen from grace, partially as a result of their new, less wealthy owners.
But in recent years, stadium upgrades or moves have helped a lot of clubs get back some clout in their leagues. Tottenham Hotspur recently moved into their huge new stadium, which established them as a serious team in London. Could AC Milan use their stadium move to help revitalise the club? Is it the breath of fresh air that fans are crying out for? In this doc, BBC Sport speak to the clubs president, supporters and footy experts about the pros and cons of the proposal.
