Embark on the voyage of a lifetime, and see ABBA’s journey from photographs to holograms in the music video for I Still Have Faith In You, from their new comeback album.
40 years in the making, the lead single pays tribute to the band’s long and fabled history, hearing ‘a bittersweet song/ in the memories we share’.
The uplifting ballad is accompanied by archival footage and photographs of fans and band alike, creating a visual memory box that takes us right up to the present.
The four spent five weeks performing each song from their upcoming tour in motion capture suits, using the same visual effects technology as Jurassic Park and The Phantom Menace.
However, these ‘Abbatars’ aren’t quite the ABBA of today – the modern footage has been merged with photographs and video from 1979, to recreate the appearance of the band in their prime.
The much-hyped tour is set to go ahead in 2022, and the avatars will be accompanied by a 10-piece live band in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
