A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated new album has been teased with a variety of avant-garde live performances and teasers on social media, but now that we’ve been treated to the visuals for his first single A$AP Forever we can say we’re more $toked than ever. The video is split into three parts, each as visually intense as the first – beginning with a rotating crane-shot effect reminiscent of the promotional videos for Donald Glover’s Atlanta, before bursting into a quick-fire continuous shot transitioning between scenes and ending in a dream-like projection mapping sequence set to a densely sampled version of Moby’s laid-back classic Porcelain. If this is the standard A$AP is going to set for rap videos then the rest of the hip-hop community has got some serious catching up to do…
