Downtown Lights is a short film from skater Corey Duffel that shows us what a city looks like at the dead of night, after everyone’s gone to bed.

For skaters, cities are a blessing and a curse. Smooth pavements, skate spots and stair rails all offer up brilliant opportunities to skaters who want to hone their craft. But crowds, security guards and irked police officers can also make life really difficult for them too. In this video, Corey goes out skating in the middle of the night when no one’s around.

We get to come along for the ride and get to see the serene quiet of the city. The freedom that Corey has to skate around whilst no one’s about is really cool to watch. It’s a unique film that is head and shoulders above other skating videos out there. Most skating vids are meant to show off the skills of the individual skating, but this video looks to show the viewer the feeling of skateboarding. What did you think of the video?
