Two staples of christmas dinner, a turkey and a potato, trade insults at a roast battle in this hilarious video from Greenpeace.

In it, the two trade jibes, with each saying that the other is the worst part of christmas dinner. It gets pretty personal and the crowd are loving it. The turkey hits the potato with the line “a potato is the Piers Morgan of christmas lunch”. Ouch. The spud hits back by saying that “people only eat turkey one day of the year, because they need the other 364 for their mouths to re-hydrate”. That’s gotta hurt.

The ad has a twist at the end though. The potato’s insults become more hard-hitting, as it points out the impact on the environment that meat has. Meat production and consumption is a big contributor to CO2 emissions. We’re not suggesting that you should go turkey-less this christmas, but Greenpeace make the point that a lot of people don’t realise how much meat contributes to climate change. It’s a funny and light-hearted vid all in all though and pits two hallmarks of christmas against each other.
