The Irish Rugby Football Union made this heartwarming ad where they help an Irish fan to see the colour green for the first time ever.

Ireland are famous for playing in their emerald kit, but for colourblind fans, this can make it really hard to distinguish between different teams. What makes things worse is that Green can often be a particularly hard colour for colourblind people to distinguish as well, due to its darker tone and shade.

In this video we meet Bobby Blakeney who’s been a rugby fan for nearly all of his life. We get to see him use a new Google Chrome extension where you can change the hues and saturations of live rugby games so that it’s easier to tell which team is which. It’s a lovely ad that shows us the importance of involving everyone in sport, no matter who they are. For fans like Bobby, this extension is a god-send and means that he can fully experience the feeling of watching the team he loves.
