_#KnifeFree – SONNY

The _#knifefree campaign aims to educate children and young people who are most at risk from knife crime in the UK on how they can take steps to make sure they aren’t one day involved in an incident with a knife, as both the victim and the offender. The campaign is accompanied with three short videos of real-life stories from people who have been directly affected by knife crime and found a way out of that world. This first video tells the story of Sonny, who was pressured into carrying a weapon by his friends and ended up being stabbed several time during an altercation at a party. Sonny has now turned his focus to football, and believes that if he had the help that the Knife Free campaign offers earlier in his life, he wouldn’t have taken the wrong path to begin with.
