Film maker Sean Wang created this beautiful short film documenting his first year in New York after moving away from his family, and he did it by using voicemails from his mother to tie the whole thing together. His mother’s heartwarming messages serve to add narrative to the film, as she worries about events such as the election results and the weather, and Wang’s beautiful cinematography helps to put together this complete picture of the things that make the city so great to him
