Ohio-based animation studio This ‘n That’s video of their 26 Days of Animated Type challenge is a bright and cheerful masterclass is using the shape of letters to influence design and character. Each letter of the alphabet is given a new lease of life – whether it’s being turned into a swimming pool with a diving board in the case of “G”, or a pretty abstract game of Pac-Man in the case of “F”, each short animation is a simple yet entertaining twist on the letter to give it some personality. With a heavily stylised drawing style and beautifully matched colours, the video is a great example of a simple idea done extremely well.
