With the 2018 World Cup just around the corner, you might be feeling all the usual anxiety that comes with it – ITV are going against the curve by encouraging fans to stop glorifying the past and just forget about it. The head-spinning advert titled Forget is a crazily-edited supercut of all the past moments, failures and rivalries from past tournaments, all put together with weird effects and transitions and a voiceover constantly telling you to forget about it because “all that matters is now”. It’s a good message ITV, but it’s gonna take more than that for us to wipe half a century’s worth of pain and anguish from our minds before we get started in Russia…
